About Me:
Hi. I'm with Saywire, a tiny start up that is a vendor at this year's conference and trade show. I'm also a registered attendee of the conference itself. I'm a member of ISTE and the International Reading Association.

One of the best things about NECC is that it helps vendors (in my case a product developer) connect with the people who actually use their wares and to learn from them. And that's the only way I've found that ensures meaningful product development. Tools are just tools. No pedagogy, no wisdom, unless they are the backbone to an experience. We can't get to the enriched, outcome producing, technology-based experience without collaborating and learning with the people who know: educators. That's one reason why we are reaching out here in the way we know best: through social networking.

Misc.:
Raised by music teachers, who as a group are becoming an endangered species which is a crying shame. Languages: French, Italian, read German.

I've been making digital learning applications since the mid 90s. I'm a writing coach and mentor to Title 1 kids. I was at Discovery, ePals, and AOL where I lead or was on teams that created: parental controls, AIM, profiles, chats, studybuddy.com, Step-by-Step Math, Ready Set Read, Learning Games and Family Library.

I'm a jigsaw puzzle nut and have a network for other nuts, www.stavepuzzlenuts.com. The first jigsaw puzzle made was by teachers and of a map to teach geography. Oldest surviving wooden puzzle is in the British Museum!

Hi, June,
Congrats! I hear that Saywire is a finalist for the Rookie of the Year award, in the EdNET awards! What a wonderful statement that Saywire is one of the leading "up and coming" companies. I know that your dedication, insight into the online world and the needs of education, and ability to listen to the customer are all part of this success. Congrats to you and your team!
