Want to be a published author? Read on.

There is a new opportunity for you to get published – the Journal for Computing Teachers (JCT). We are looking for
• articles
• well-reasoned opinion pieces
• book, software, and site reviews
• reports about conferences, programming contests, etc.
• letters to the editor

JCT is published under the auspices of the Special Interest Group for Computer Teachers (SIGCT) in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). A primary mission of SIGCT is to strengthen the teaching of computing in P-12 education. JCT accepts manuscripts for possible publication in two ways – editor reviewed and peer reviewed (for “refereed” publication).

In the “editor reviewed” process, articles are reviewed by me as the editor. In the “peer-reviewed” portion of the journal, manuscripts are acknowledged by me upon receipt and, if judged as appropriate for JCT, are sent to at least two members of the Editorial Review Board for review. Following the completion of the review process, I will contact the author(s) to accept the paper for publication, to accept the paper conditional on the completion of any recommended revisions, or to decline it.

For information about the journal and submission guidelines for authors, go to the journal site at http://www.iste.org/jct. Potential authors do not have to be members of ISTE or SIGCT to publish in JCT. We welcome authors one and all. JCT issues are viewable by anyone – not just ISTE members. The submission deadline for the fall 2008 issue is September 1, 2008.

Also, members for the Editorial Review Board for the Journal for Computing Teachers are sought. Your name would be included in the list of members of the Editorial Review Board. The peer review process of JCT is reliant upon thorough outside reviews from qualified professionals.

I hope that you will consider contributing to the Journal for Computing Teachers and/or consider being on the Editorial Review Board. I will be attending NECC if you would like to meet to discuss either submitting a paper to JCT or being on the review board. My cellphone is 716-860-0341.
