FC is, I think, an ideal communications tool/container for educators. I've been looking at various learning management systems (LMSs) for a while now - StudyWiz, Moodle, Blackboard, D2L, etc. and always come back to thinking that we could do most or all of what those systems do in FC. In my previous district, we used a FC product called Rapid Web Designer for the district's web content management system (CMS). Teachers loved that they could create and maintain web pages using only the FC client. In my new district, I'm lobbying to go to RWD from the current CMS.
FirstClass ED is now available, along with some other customized FC products; they all use the same FC concepts and tools to create collaborative workspaces for teachers and students. I work with a FC support agency out of Atlanta called Aptiris; they have been very helpful with the technical side of things. There are other FC resellers/support vendors around the country, perhaps one not too far from Tucson.
