About Me:
Professional educator for over 30 years. BA in Education at ASU and M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and would love to connect with folks from UMass at NECC. I have had many administrative/leadership roles throughout my career including elementary principal, special education director, director of a private school for the deaf, coordinator of a Professional Development School (PDS) program affiliated with ASU-West, and teacher education lecturer at ASU-West. Courses I have taught include action research, classroom instruction and management, curriculum organization, technology integration in the K-12 classroom, classroom assessment, and the student teaching capstone seminar. Since my second "retirement" in May 2007, I have been involved in many educational technology projects related to Web 2.0 and best practices for technology integration in schools/universities. I am currently the Westside AzTEA Co-Chair and AzTEA Board Member.

My passion is continuing to explore all of the latest technology innovations and social networking opportunities and to share these resources with other educators. Retirement has provided me with time to play and explore web 2.0 tools, and to read blogs, wikis and listen to podcasts. Fantastic opportunities!

My NECC 2009 PageFlakes site

This is the PageFlakes page I am building for NECC 2009. PageFlakes is a site where you can basically create your own "home page" to track all of the latest blog posts, podcasts, wikis and conference happenings in one place. Once you register for the site (free) you can create as many PageFlakes as you like. You can also copy someone else's PageFlake and then edit it to make it your own. Click on the "Copy" tab at the top of the page. This is the link to my PageFlake for NECC which I modified from an excellent page created by Mrs. Durff last year. Feel free to copy and use it if you find it helpful. It's called: NECC 2009-Peggy's Page. :-)

Thanks, Peggy. I am not able to add a new category, but feel it would be so wonderful to have a separate category just for virtual attendance topics. I put in a request to Jennifer and Maryann to have them add the category topic for me. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate you!

Okay, Peggy. Where should I post that question about the organizers-helpful-hints? In a particular forum category?

Hi Peggy! I was not in San Antonio, just did the virtual Second Life activities. Maybe next year... Looks like everyone had a great time. I wanted to participate in the wrapup but forced myself to do something in real life. I tried to watch it this morning but didn't manage to hear the audio. :(
Hope to catch up with you in the future. My sandbox has been great for our boot campers and I hope to do more professional development for other groups.

Hi Peggy! Amazing!! Such a small little town! We'll have to visit.
I did hear about that WOW on Tuesday, but we had a board meeting. Thanks for the tip about the podcast. Good Airplain listening, huh!!

I'll be coming into the EdubloggerCon late. I arrive at 11:30 in San Antonio, and will take a taxi straight to the conference. Steve said to come on down, even if I miss the first half. So nice!
I saw your name of the list. So I will try to find you there!

I can't wait to see everyone!

Peggy,

It is official. I am a techno nerd. A name I wear with pride. Now mind you I am not a full-fledged nerd, more of a wanna-be. I just went through every picture in this Ning to see who had joined and who was online. Note that I was not surprised to find you chatting....
see you at NECC.
