Hi Freda - I've been so busy at NECC that I didn't make it to the International Reception. Will try to find you at the iEarn events. Hope you are having a wonderul conference! Barbara
Hi Walter! I arrive Friday late, then at the Edubloggercon all day Saturday. Sunday visiting some family in the morning. I grew up in Maryland. Sunday evening going to the keynote and opening gala. Still looking for dinner plans on Sunday.
CRSTE creates synergy across the national capital region for advocacy, infrastructure, policy, practice, professional development and strategies that promote the infusion of instructional technology.
I guess you'd say I'm a little passionate about educational technology and online environments. That's why I created My eCoach almost 11 years ago. Way before blogs, wikis, and Ning. Everyone told me that I was 10 years ahead of everyone. Now I am constantly learning about Web 2.0 tools and social networks like Facebook and Ning. What works? What doesn't and why? I still found that building in coaching or someway of virtual nudging is important. Started as a coach and realize the importance of being someone's cheerleader. Teacher's need the support and appreciation more than ever now.
I love to write, read, be with good friends and watch sunsets over water. Guess you can say I am trying to figure out how to make each day memorable. When you lose both parents in a short time, you realize that you don't have lots of time. So you might as well live each day to its fullest. I also have a new granddaughter who is pretty darn cute. Her smile warms my heart. I find myself excited about my children's path as entreprenuers, son Andrew is an actor and musical director; daughter Sara is innovative eco artist. I am in awe of their talents. I decided this year is my year to find myself and learn more about what I want in life. I joined a book club, started knitting, taking yoga and Xi Gong, walk around the reservoir at least twice a week, watching my diet, and dropped 100 points off my cholesterol. Going to get all of that stress out of my life...
