Thank you for the posts. I just joined this group and like what I see. I have just started a group teaching members on risks of ID Theft and how they can prevent it. Thank you

If you will be at NECC and are willing/able to donate an hour of your time then I need your help. We are trying something new at NECC this year, the Digital Arts Playground. I am in charge of the section called Designing Delights, this is the graphic design area. I am looking for many good people to help staff this area. Please feel free to contact me on this Ning with any questions. Here is the link to sign up and here is the link to the DAP group on this ning

I know I can count on my network to help out. Please pick the best time for you...feel free to pick more than one time too : )

Coolhunting 2.0

In this provocative blog entry, Carl Heine explains how he uses twitter as a way to find & follow experts and by doing so get introduced to communities he can trust.

From the blog:

"The basis of coolhunting is that you can use Web 2.0 tools to locate creative swarms of individuals who are developing new ideas before they reach a tipping point. Web 2.0 forums, chat, bulletin boards, etc. (even emails) afford a window into the communication patterns of people who are engaged in creative swarms."

For more on the twitter connection, check out Carl's Blog, The Internet Search Challenge.

Hi Robin, saw your post about RippleRap. I somewhat helped the development team behind it (Osmosoft) with the concept and am well familiar with it.

Just recently RippleRap has been rebranded as the Confabb Note Sharer. If you go to the following address and grab the note sharer from the 'notes' tab, it will be automatically filled in with the different NECC sessions etc, ready to take notes on:
http://www.confabb.com/conferences/51133-necc-2008

Note that you will need to register with confabb, free of cost. Let me know if you run into any difficulties whilst using it.

Found this tool too. Anyone game to give it a try? It would allow people to share notes etc...

For those blogging at NECC, you should read this list of tips:
http://www.lunchoverip.com/2007/10/tips-for-confer.html from Ethan Zuckerman and Bruno Glussani. Some really great hints for preparing your posts before you get to NECC.

This group is for the Discovery Educator Network. I thought it would be easier to have a group here instead of going to the DEN Ning.
